The goal
With high annual energy usage, this property was a prime candidate for solar.
The client came to us explaining that their existing annual electricity usage was around 12,000 kWh per year, which was leading to substantial bills totalling around £2,863 per year. Our solar proposal give details on expected annual generation and savings, and we advised that this annual bill could be reduced to around just £568. With these levels of savings proceeding with this solar installation was a great plan for the client.
In addition to the savings benefit, the client was also keen to have a backup for any power cuts that occur in their rural Dorset location.
The installation
A smooth process and efficient installation
One of the things that really sets us apart from other Dorset solar installers are our team. With decades of combined experience and a meticulous attention to detail, our team work together tirelessly to adhere to the highest of standards. This installation took place within a very short time-frame, aided by the ease of access and the nature of the ground-mount system, with no compromises made.
The mount location was chosen to help hide an existing agricultural building from view, with the panels orientated dead south to maximise sun exposure. The 3 x batteries and inverter were placed inside a garage.
Technology
Quality kit, for peace of mind
When you invest in solar panels and battery storage, you need to be sure that the kit will last many years, hasstle free. That’s why we choose AIKO and SolarEdge.
The result
Savings beyond the anticipated
After installation of this extensive solar system the client saw instant reductions in energy bills as the panels started supplying electricity to the home and reducing the reliance on the grid.
The 30kWh of battery storage is creating additional savings especially during the winter months, beyond what the proposal projections could anticipate. By charging the batteries at cheaper rates over night and then using that stored energy during the day, the use of full-price electricity use during winter was slashed, leading to significant savings. A worthwhile investment.
